High School & Elementary • "Pi Day" • March 14, 2008
Pi Day (March 14th, representing the digit 3.14...) is always exciting at Eldorado Emerson! We have a Pi memorization contest - open to ALL of our students! You will often see a young elementary student reciting all the numbers of Pi that they can remember to the senior class homeroom teacher. Later on at lunch you may catch all of the students gathered around our annual pie eating contest. And in 2008 for the first time, every student participated in our Pi Chain! Our classes from Kindergarten through High School worked on one section of the number Pi. Every colored ring of the chain represented a true number, and when they were all joined together, we celebrated the creation of over 1,000 digits of Pi!
