Eldorado Emerson Preschool has a developmental curriculum that is tailored to each
individual child. Children must be at least 2 years and 9 months old and potty-trained.
Children learn and practice academic building blocks and social skills in a nurturing
environment. Our preschool students begin their lifelong love of reading using our
successful MagiLex reading series. They will meet such interesting characters as
Pigglepug and Mopinset, and may add to their own home library with the addition
of a mini version of each book they read.
In addition, students will participate in classes that will take them outside of
their homerooms – music and foreign language. Students will practice one-on-one
reading with their own teacher or with our reading teacher every day that they attend
preschool. By the end of their preschool experience, our students feel confident
and eager to start Kindergarten.
Our Preschool offers either half days, 9:00am to 12:30pm, or full days, 9:00am to
3:00pm. You may choose two, three, four, or five days per week. There are up to
twelve students per day in the preschool classrooms. Tuition varies on how many
half or full days you choose. We offer before school care, from 7:30am to 9:00am,
and after school care, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, for $5 per hour. Siblings are $2.50
per hour.
There is no admission testing. We begin potential enrollment with a Visit Week,
where we invite your student to come every day (5 half-days, 9am to 12:30pm). After
the Visit Week is completed, the student's teachers will write evaluations, and
as long as everything has gone smoothly, the student will be officially enrolled
and continue school on the following Monday. If the student does not enroll, then
there is no charge for the Visit Week.
Your student may enroll at any time during the year if space permits.
Our school is open for eleven months from September through the end of July. Late
June through July is a fun summer session where academics also continue. The preschool
has a fun theme planned for each day of summer session, such as "Teddy Bear Picnic
Day", "Build your own Sundae Day", and "Water Play Day".
